Far from the madding queue

ONE of the ubiquitous activities at Just Festival, and indeed any of the festivals running in Edinburgh at the moment, is, yes, queuing.

The festival volunteers and staff are doing their best to make your weight seem as short as possible, but the changeover time between one show or conversation and another is an activity-packed one. Each event usually has a different layout, different sound and lighting requirements, different staging. You get the picture.

In other words, we're not keeping you outside for the fun of it. Because we know it's not fun. On the other hand, you can get to meet new people, have a natter, chew on a sandwich, attend to your mobile phone... or even dance. Yes, some people have done that!

Tonight's attractive bunch have been waiting for the conversation on A World Without Religion (question mark). It's a sell-out. One of many, we hope, so do get your tickets.
